I got two words for you, and for my little boys, and for every little boy everywhere: "Spider-Man pop-up".
The book is not that fantastic, as pop-ups go, but the subject matter alone has made it an object of worship in my house.
And it's not my sloppy camera work - the thing really is a trapezoid and not a rectangle.
Two words!? Are you a cataloger?
ReplyDeleteI will read any book that is a trapezoid.
ReplyDeleteSean, your Marvel Encyclopedia has been an iconic object ever since they saw it at your house. It has been promised as a gift for the first boy who learns to read.
ReplyDeleteAnd Jaime, I think Spider-Man and pop-up have evolved into words in their own right. Spider-Man only retains the hyphen because he's old-school - everybody else is just one word; and "pop-up" is so legitimate that you can use it as a noun.
Like, "old-school" is two words b/c if you dropped the hyphen it would still be understood, likewise "inside-out". But if you wrote "pop up book" without the hyphen, you'd look like a retard.
